Curriculum for Wales

We believe healthy relationships are fundamental to our well-being. Our mission is to equip and empower young people to make informed, positive choices regarding the social influences that shape who they are and the impact of their life choices.

Learners will need to engage critically with these social influences within their own culture, as well as those of others, in order to understand how norms and values develop. This can enable them to understand how their own behaviours, relationships and experiences are shaped.

Hwb, Curriculum for Wales, Health and Wellbeing

Our lessons meet the Welsh Curriculum by helping young people:

  • Develop secure values and establish spiritual and ethical beliefs

  • Form positive relationships based on trust and mutual respect

  • Build emotional and mental well-being and resilience

  • Make measured lifestyle decisions and manage risk

  • Find information to support themselves and stay well

All Respect ME lessons address the ‘Health and Wellbeing’ area of learning within Humanities as part of the Curriculum of Wales. Our lessons help schools meet criteria for all five ‘Statements of what matters’ and help young people progress in their learning:

  1. Developing physical health and mental well-being has lifelong benefits
  2. How we process and respond to our experiences affects our mental health and emotional well-being
  3. Our decision-making impacts on the quality of our lives and the lives of others
  4. How we engage with social influences shapes who we are and affects our health and well-being
  5. Healthy relationships are fundamental to our well-being
