Respect ME is an international PSHE project offering a unique and complementary approach to sexuality and self-esteem education. Our passionate team of tutors are trained to deliver high quality RSE education to pupils in Key Stage 3–5.
We seeks to equip, empower, and build up young people to achieve their potential, breaking down the lies of the media to help them understand their value, giving them a hope and a future.
‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’
(Jeremiah 29:11 – New International Version)
Ethos
All lessons are underpinned by our Christian values. However, we appreciate there are many different faiths, opinions and beliefs in our society and we as a team do not force our viewpoints upon young people. We simply offer a safe environment in which they can learn, explore and discuss the topic matters with a Christian take. Tutors always encourage young people to apply the healthy principles of each lesson to their life circumstances.
Working in partnership with the ‘Esteem Project,’ Respect ME tutors are regularly updated on best practise, so you can be confident in the quality of our work. Tutors gain accreditation as SRE educators having completed the ‘Teaching Relationships & Sex Education’ course in partnership with Open College Network West Midlands.
Why we do what we do
Respect ME exists to:
Bring hope and self-worth to young people regardless of background or context.
Encourage positive relationships that promote respect for self and others.
Explore social influences and their impact on self-esteem and lifestyle choices.
Promote healthy coping strategies for abusive behaviour and help build resilience.
Equip and empower young people with tools to represent themselves well online and stay safe.
Provide a safe and inclusive space to discuss tough topics and opportunity to access further support.
